Serious shortage protocol (SSP083) for venlafaxine 37.5mg modified-release tablets issued

In response to significant ongoing disruption to the supply of venlafaxine 37.5mg modified-release tablets, an SSP has been issued that allows for venlafaxine 37.5mg modified-release capsules to be provided in place of the modified release tablets. SSP expiry date 01 August 2025.

Medicine supply notification: Levemir® (insulin detemir) FlexPen® 100units/ml solution for injection 3ml pre-filled pens and Levemir® Penfill 100units/ml solution for injection 3ml cartridges

Levemir FlexPen and Penfills are being discontinued; stock is anticipated to be exhausted by the end of 2026. Clinical advice on the discontinuation of all Levemir presentations is being produced and will follow in the coming months.

Serious shortage protocols for Estradot® patches (SSP080 and SSP081) extended

The Department of Health and Social Care has extended the SSPs for Estradot 75micrograms/24hours patches (SSP080) and Estradot 100micrograms/24hours patches (SSP081) to Friday 6 June 2025.
