These serious shortage protocols, due to expire 16 January 2026, have now been further extended to Friday 30 January (SSP60; 10,000 capsules) and Friday 17 April 2026 (SSP61; 25,000 capsules).
All presentations of aspirin have been added to the DHSC’s list of medicines that cannot be exported or hoarded after reports of supply issues, in order to preserve supplies. Normal supply is expected to resume over the coming weeks.
